Install Wingman Joystick

Hi all, I am having a problem installing my Wingman joystick using a USB connection. AMD Athlon 3.46 mghz ME. The MB on it don't have a game port so I had to change to USB. I install the software and then connect joystick. Then when I try to make it detect the device it just freezes and won't respond to CTRL+ALT+Del. It dont even turn off. I have to pull the plug to restart. I have tried all the USB (5) connectors with same results each time. The USB's respond with other devices so I know they are working. BTW, the software does not show in control panel add/remove programs.
