Installing Games on my new Laptop.

Hey there.

I just bought a new laptop just for my Uni work and browsing and therefore would like to keep it running quick. Don't wanna clutter it with programs.

Anyway, occasionally I like to play World Of Warcraft on my Laptop.. So forgive my absolute noviceness (that a word?), but installing games on laptop, when not even playing them would it have an effect on how fast my laptop runs? Obviously when I'm playing the game, the computer slows down. But when I'm not playing ..

Just like any other program, if it isn't running then it isn't using any resources.
