Hi Everybody, im new here and sorta feel embarrassed about askin for help for such a minor thing.
A member of a chat group that i chat with lost headers in the chat room . (Headers = anonymous says: anonymous thinks: anonymous enters: etc. ) This makes it hard to follow in chat not knowing who says what. He has windows Me and he lost the headers when he got DSL. We use such a simple chat client ( Microsoft comic chat 2.5 in text mode.) You see we all learned how to use our computers in this chat room and became good friends by helping each other and learning new things together. We dont so much talk puter talk anymore but when someone has a problem we all try to help figure it out one way or another.
I've been told that ME , DSL and microsoft comic chat dont mix well together. ( i guess headers have been lost before after going to DSL with with win. Me) Some how i dont want to believe this and for my friend i hope it isnt true because he has a hard enough time with his computer to have to learn a new chat client just to communicate with his chat friends. Thats what he was told he would have to do , to either upgrade to win. xp or get a different chat client like mIRC or pirch . These clients are much harder to use .
I would love to hear any ideas that may help get his headers back.

this is not going to answer your question but just a few things about me that i have noticed if your friend is not keeping his computer cleaned up real good me is not very forgiveing any old programs he has on there that he is not useing he should get rid of also temperory internet files even cookies now with the faster systems and so mutch spam are not mutch use history is another place that can clog you up most people dont use it and even if you do setting it for 2 davs should be alright
defrag. is another thing that is very important with me or any other os

i used me for a year or so and and never had that mutch prob out of it although i compute pretty simple and i guess you could say a nut for keeping it cleaned up
i know every body cusses me but generally most prob can be traced to operator error these are just a few thoughts for your friend to keep in mind to make his machine run better
