Slow download speed

I am on a wireless broadband connection. I bought a linksys router & wireless card combo a couple of years ago & my old laptop had super fast download speeds on that. However, with my new laptop (which has an integrated wifi card) the download speed is super slow 53kb/sec, can anybody help me figure out why??

A lot depends on the server that you are downloading from, amount of traffic, distance ect.

On the old lappy did you by chance have a Super "G" PCMCIA card?? Super "G" can run at 54 some at 108 mbps.

Go into the router configuration and see if 802.1b is enabled, if so disable it, this will slow things down considerably.
