Image recognition on Vista

My laptop PC running Vista Home has decided to stop displaying .gif and .png images on my web pages.
The desktop PC running XP has no problem with them.

Can anyone help me sort this one out?

To try the easiest thing first and assuming you're using Internet Explorer, empty the cache. To do that, in IE go to Tools>Internet Options>General tab and in the "Browsing History" section, click the "Delete files" button. In the window that opens, in the "Temporary Internet files," click the "Delete files" button.

When it's finished, click OK and see if that solved the problem.

If not, reopen Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab and scroll down to Multimedia and make sure "Show pictures" is checked.

Solved

Thanks for your reply.

I've solved the problem, but it was not where I expected to find it.
Eventually traced it to the flash drive that I was using to transfer files from Desktop to Laptop.
I transferred the files and the complete folder appeared to be OK on the Flash Drive,
but after transfer to the Laptop the resulting folder was empty.
I have now used a different Flash Drive and everything displays as it should.
Unfortunately my first thought was that it must be a Vista error.

My only reliable transfer drive seems to be the little 2GB Kingston.

Thanks for posting back with the solution. It may help someone in the future because a flash drive was nowhere on my list of possible causes.
