DISREGARD THIS POST!!. "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" FINALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM (BUT NOT THE FIRST TIME.)
Hi
My friend just bought a new laptop which has Vista Home Premium 32-bit installed on it. (Hate that, but it's what she got.) She had Office 2003 Premium installed on her old PC, so we figured we'd install that on the laptop since the other computer has seen its last useful day.
When I try installing Office, I get an error message that says I have to have "elevated" rights to install the software. I'm signed on as my friend, and she has Administrator permissions. What else is there? This is a home computer and not on a domain--it's just a standalone PC.
ERROR MESSAGE: Error executing file.
D:\Office11 - Disc 1 - Professional\SETUP.EXE
The requested operation requires elevation.
What I'm needing is to figure out how to "elevate" so I can install this software. MS's Help is no help. Thanks!
