My graphics card is a EVGA NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GT Superclocked Edition
Happens during anything from browsing the web with mozilla, listening to music on itunes, and to playing crysis or call of duty 4.
The screen turns blank, pink, or gray, and i cannot do anything and the computer never comes out of it. The sound that was playing either skips, keeps playing normal, or just turns off. It's different every time, but I am forced to reset every time. Either that, or my computer just freezes during gameplay. It happens like day on and day off. Like yesterday it never happened all day no matter what i was doing. I played call of duty no problem all day. Today it happens every 10 minutes after reseting no matter what im doing and i play call of duty for a minute and it just freezes. I've tried everything. At first i thought it was the graphics card so i installed the new bios, drivers, switched my vga cable as suggested by EVGA, switched the DVI to VGA adaptor out, tried switching monitors, downloaded rivatuner and monitored the graphics card heat, tried underclocking, overclocking, adjusting fan speed, and just messing around with the settings and stuff. I tried taking the graphics card out and putting it back in.
I dont know what the problem is. My computer is a home made barebone kit started pc. I am running windows vista ultimate 32 bit on a pc with the mentioned graphics card, a Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, 2 gigs of Corsair ram, a 600 watt power supply, a seagate barracuda 320 gig 7200 rpm SATA harddrive. I have no clue what the problem is. Could it be any other hardware or software in my computer that is messing it up? I am about to make EVGA send me a new graphics card but im not even sure if thats the real problem
