I am trying to share a printer that is on a 2000 machine from a NT machine. This printer was on the NT machine first and now on the 2000, both machines have the printer installed as local. It works on both machines locally. When I go through network neighborhood on the NT machine and right click on the shared printer I get a message that says "The server on which the printer resides dows not have a suitable HP Deskjet 882C printer driver installed. Click on OK if you wish to install the driver on your local machine." [OK] [Cancel] If I hit OK my pc just freezes and does nothing. We tried to install the NT4 drivers directly on 2000 but they dont install. We went to sharing and added alternative drivers , selected NT4 Intel , then you are prompted for the NT disk. Insert that and then it needs a .INF file. But which one????? And where is it??? In driver library folder there are a few that begin with HP but none work. The original install disk does not have drivers for 2000. Why is this becoming so much of a pain. Can anyone help me please.

Check out these documents from HP. Look at the win 2k for the networking part. I think this will help you out.
