32 or 64 bit OS?

hi there everyone, i was just wondering which is the best os to go for, vista ultimate 32 bit, or 64 bit? what are the real life differences, and how will they affectm me? i mostly use my pc for downloading media, surfing the net and playing games. many many thanks
