I have a network with 4 computers running. Each have Windows XP Pro service pack 2, have file sharing turned on, are apart of the network called NETWORK, and connect to the internet with no problems. I have gone through the services to make sure that no service is running that disallows others to connect to them.
That being said, two of the computers work great: They can connect to other computers and computers can connect to them no problem. A third computer can connect to both of the other two computers, but no one can connect to it, and the fourth computer cannot be connected to nor can it connect to other computers. I assume the third computer's problem is firewall related, but I've turned it off and turned on guest access. The fourth computer I have no ideas, but I do know that when I try to ping other computers by their names all packets are dropped, but if I ping the computer's IP then it works fine; still if I try to connect to \\192.168.1.xxx it quickly says that I've typed the computer's name in error.
Any ideas? Help, please.
