Mouse flickers out in certain games..

When I open up certain fullscreen applications, namely Company of Heros, EVE Online, Crysis, and any game that uses the Source Engine; the mouse cursor flickers during movement and becomes completely invisible when not moving. If I move it it reappears but flickers constantly until movement ceases. It does it in the fullscreen games, i have tried playing them in windowed mode and the flickering and disappearing of the cursor ceases to happen, for all of them except Company of Heros, in which the cursor becomes completely invisible. Everything save the buggy cursor works just fine, no lag whatsoever. My GPU temperature was in the high 50's to low 70's (Celsius), the varying heat had no effect on the buggy cursor.

I don't really know how the programs are related, but they are several games that don't have this issue, such as World of Warcraft, Jedi Knight : Jedi Academy, Unreal Tournament 2004, Unreal Tournament 3, Quake Wars : Enemy Territory, Quake 4, Call of Duty 4 and Star Wars Galaxies are all games that I've played that aren't having this issue.

I've searched for hours trying to find a solution without success, read several forum posts of people with the same issue, who generally receive redundant advice or none at all. I've reloaded latest drivers for video, direct X, mouse and keyboard drivers, disabled the mouse extras (trails, shadows, etc), tried clearing up processes that could be lagging my system.. No dice on anything. Anyone know how to fix this?
