Wireless Network question.

Can anyone help me??

I have 2 computers in the house, one connected by cable to broadband supplied by Talktalk, and one that is not connected to the net at all. I have just purchased a router (2wire ADSL modem/WiFi router) and am wondering what i need to link it up to the 2nd PC. Is it just a bluetooth dongle or is it a WiFi card or something completely different that receives the signal from the modem?

You did not mention the brand name or model of the router purchased, or whether the router has only wired connections or has a 'wireless' option also? In addition, what is the type of computer and its age that you want to interact w/ the router? Finally, does this computer already have an ethernet card and/or wireless card installed? Answers to these questions will help others provide more specific advice - good luck! :happy:

I agree by and large with geradman, however you did say that the router is WiFi, so you just need to make sure that the second computer has a Wireless (or WiFi) card either built in or added externally most likely with USB. I would recommend that you add encryption to your router, but getting your own computer connected is still the first step, and should happen automatically once the router is set up and the wireless card is installed.
