Network and Sharing Center Icon Freezes

Several times especially when using a wireless connection on the Network and Sharing Center I do not get a response when clicking on the icon on the taskbar. Sometimes all I get is a white blank box. The only way to correct this problem is to restart sometimes 2-3 times.
This is on a Dell 1520 Inspirion using Vista Home Premium. Computer is only 4 months old. I know I can call Dell and they act like they have never heard of this problem and stay on the phone for 2 hours while they try a million things however just looking to cut to the chase and fixing the problem.

Hi jr70895. Cant say that I've heard of this before. Have you installed Service Pack 1 yet? There were a number of compatibility fixes in the SP.

The SP1 is another issue, I have downloaded several times but when I attempt to install error message #57A.
