I just acquired a Dell that only has an Ethernet port, but I have dial-up internet. Is there anything I can purchase in order to access the internet?

Hi christina.long,
You will need to purchase a dial-up modem for your internet connection.

That is all? Neither Dell nor NetZero could tell me what to do. They keep telling me to ask the other.

I do, gretap! Cheap call centres with poorly trained staff :p
Isn't it a shame, that they were both only able to think about broadband?

Christina.long - hello, you've already received some great advice from a few of the 'experts' -
Your 'dialup' modem options will vary depending on the type of computer your own, i.e. desktop vs. laptop, and also on the other types of connections in the machine; if you have a desktop computer, then an internal modem card is likely your best option - if you are wary about 'opening' the computer, then an external USB modem would be an option. With a laptop computer, your choices may just be external options, e.g. USB or PCMCIA connection - please reply back if you need further advice - and, good luck!
