at first i thought i was 'hearing things' but it happens more often now.
It must have started about 6 weeks ago but i'm not 100% sure.
The problem is i keep getting the sound of a door being opened every once and a while. Ive ran a complete spyware and virus check but everything comes back clean.
heres the startup list results in case it helps you:

To check for a virus and to make sure your clean, go to CTH's Virus Information page (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/misc/av.php) and run the Online Virus scan. I know you have Bitdefender, but another service is worth checking out sometimes for added checks....

I dont much think you have a virus.

That sound could be coming from Trillian. Try shutting off all sound for it and see if the noise continues. You could be hearing this sound due to Buddies coming online or leaving. I haven't used Trillian in a long time, so I can't remember what sounds they use.

i just did some investigation and the sound i hear is the same as the offline sound in trilian on one off the xp skins.
however i hear the sound even while trillian isn't running and as i said above it started before i installed trillain
