Mutating MAC address--please help!

Hello, let me start off by saying that my knowledge of computers is quite limited. I am currently having a problem with my Durabook laptop that is running on Windows Vista. I was having trouble connecting to my university's internet network and called up one of their tech guys. He told me that my MAC address is changing everytime I reboot. That is not supposed to happen and it is the reason the network can't recognize my computer. He showed me how to check it through command prompt by typing ipconfig /all. Sure enough, after every time that I reboot, the last two digits of the MAC/physical address have changed. What can I do to stop this? Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
