I have had a thought http://forums.whatthetech.com/style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif I have recently managed to re-install Vista Home Basic in English (on a Spanish bought computer with Home Basic O/S in Spanish) and re-activate it with MS no problems.

My question is that a friend of mine has bought the same computer - Acer Aspire M1100 AMD Athlon 64x2, 2 gb Ram - I notice that Microsoft offer an upgrade to Vista Home PREMIUM at around $150. Would it be possible to buy an English version and install the upgrade over the top of the BASIC version thus changing the computer to English ? This obvioulsy would save all the hassle as I had in formatting/re-installing etc.

Thanks in advance.
