Hello,

Well I haven't used my computer in almost 2 months now or so, cause I've been away, so my brother has been using it, and nothing good came out of it :hmm:

Anyway now that I got back I see a lot of changes made to my computer like new programs and so on, that I frankly don't want so I deleted half of them, anyway, now everytime I'm looking through my folder, sometimes something goes wrong and the folders won't load, not all the time, so than I have to restart as nothing in my PC works correctly like I can't access any of my programs or go to mydocuments and so on, and the fans inside go nuts, with no program running.

Anyway I've notice this only happens after I download something, like video files and so on, I'm not sure if this is a virus or something as Zone Alarm (my current Internet security suit) shows no threats, I also installed vista SP1 hoping for the problem to go away, but no luck.

Also the only way to make it work is for me to restart my computer, which won't work unless I press the power button, and I really never had to do that b4 so this is kinda weird. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Holzmaster. I'll have a look at your startups for you. Download Deckard's System Scanner (dss.exe) from here (http://deckard.geekstogo.com/dss.exe) to your Desktop. Close all open applications and windows, doubleclick on dss.exe to run it and follow the prompts.

When the scan is complete, a text file will open. Copy and paste the contents of this log (Main.txt) in your next reply. Also post the contents of Extra.txt (it should be minimised on your taskbar but if not, it can be found in the C:\Deckard\System Scanner folder). You may find that the maximum characters allowed is exceeded when you post. If so, halve the logs and make several posts.

There are a couple of files that we might have to check further but first, did you uninstall i-keeper software?

I see that you have both CA Internet Security Suite and ZoneAlarm Security Suite installed. This is a recipe for disaster and one of these programs needs to be uninstalled. Please do so, reboot afterwards and let us know if this makes any difference.

There are a couple of files that we might have to check further but first, did you uninstall i-keeper software?

I see that you have both CA Internet Security Suite and ZoneAlarm Security Suite installed. This is a recipe for disaster and one of these programs needs to be uninstalled. Please do so, reboot afterwards and let us know if this makes any difference.

i-keeper not sure really but I've uninstalled a couple of programs that I didn't recognize, also the CA internet security suit only has site advisor installed and anti-spam I've gotten rid of antivirus, antispyware and Firewall, so only the Zone Alarm ones are installed, is that still a problem, should I just get rid of it?

I think it would be a good idea to uninstall CA Internet Security. There is a file running at startup and a service too. I dont know the function of either but we should eliminate this software as the cause of your problems. Reboot when you have done this and let me know if it made any difference.

Well I got rid of CA but now when I restarted, my zone alarm is not working, it comes up with an error message saying "This application has failed to start because VSPUBAPI.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

Btw it takes less time to restart my computer now, that I got rid of CA.:D

I'm glad you can see the bright side. :D

Have you tried reinstalling ZA? If not, it might be a good idea to completely uninstall it first and then do the reinstall. Sounds like there may have been some corruption.

Hi,
in this topic's first post I read you deleted some programs.
I hope you meant 'uninstalled" rather than delete program folders.

I think AnnMarie would like to know too.

No but you will need the product key to reinstall the software so make sure you have it saved and printed before you uninstall ZA Internet Security.

That's good. Most antivirus programs do not play nicely together and this can cause all kinds of havoc.

Alright, and it seems when I got rid of CA, many of my programs have stopped working, like iTunes and so on, but its all good, at least its fixed, anyway thx a lot AnnMarie.:D
