Hi Snurfen

Here is the set up and connection data as requested

Main computer ADSL, running Windows 2007
Secondary Computer WIRELESS, netgear card running Windows Pro Edition 2003
Router Linksys HG200 v2

Also the main computer shares drives etc with the secondary computer

The situation is this every time the main computer wants to connect to the net the secondary has to dissconnect in order for connection

The Wireless for some reason seems to hog the bandwidth

Is this of any help, hopefully it is

Many Thanks

3gbunny

What is the secondary doing? Are you streaming data to it from the web or using it to host some service?

Or do you mean, you can't connect primary to internet when secondary is connected, so you have to manually disconnect the first.

Hi Snurfen

Thanks again for reply hopefully the information that follows will help you understand the situation better

The primary's (wired) connection to the internet becomes shaky when the secondary (wireless) computer is connected. The only way to make it solid is to disconnect the secondary at which point the primary's connection goes to full strength.

N.B I got main set up wrong by the way. The primary is running Windows XP Media Centre Edition.

Many Thanks again

Hi 3gbunny, just a brief visit before I go to college then off swimming. I'll have a look in about 7 hours when I get home (ok, so we visit a local hostelry to drink "isotonic" beer on the way home from the pool).

anyone else, please feel free to join in, in my absence
