Hey mother's day is coming. I want to buy a gift for my mother, something useful or something with special meanings. Any good ideas, waht do you intend to buy for your mother??

Try this, doesn't cost much, but you'd be off the "kudos-ometer".

Turn up early, make her a great breakfast - whatever her favourite is, fresh orange juice, warmed croissants, Bon-Maman Conserve, etc etc. And her favourite Sunday newspaper.

When she's upstairs enjoying that in bed, give her house a good clean for her. Spray a nice fragrance inthe rooms.

Take her out for a drive and a light lunch somewhere, preferably to meet up with some of her old friends.

Mate, you'd be on a pedastle for quite a while after that one. "Oh, you'll never guess what my son/daughter did for my mothering sunday treat......"

My mum's getting a Rosemary Connoly "hip thigh and Tum" diet book, Cos I fancy a thick year, fat lip and a black eye! (I'm not really - got far too much sense for that :p )

I did mothers day when I was back in the UK a few weeks back. I'll do it again in a few weeks just for extra fudge brownie points.

My mum died in 1984, but I still think of her. :hmm:

Sorry to hear that dammit.
I can only speak for my mum, who I thank God is still alive at 86. But what she likes and really appreciates is a box of chocolates on these special occasions.
She's on such a restricted diet cause of here health, she really enjoys the sweets when she can get them.

Well personally I think a bouquet of fresh flowers, a box a nice chocolate and a warm hug is the best present for my mom. And I have found a deal (http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=97726&ru=282) says that 1-800-FLOWERS is offering 15 more tulips, a clear glass vase and a box of chocolate for free when ordering flowers from them. Maybe you will agree that's a good gift idea.

My mum is a dab hand at the back-hand skillet shot. Though her weapon of choice is the fast-thrown mule. So accurate.

Sorry to hear that Dammit. I've got lots of parents still on the go (broken home - explains a lot, huh?) and I'm genuinely dreading them popping their clogs.
