internet not loading properly

Hey everyone,

I have a bit of a prob. I have two computers.. desktop is on win xp pro, and laptop is on win vista. desktop is connected to net gear router via cable, and laptop via wireless.

Now I only installed this router about 2 days ago.

At first I noticed the desktop internet was very slow. Now it will not load the internet unless from a direct link.. i.e. if someone emails me with a link, I can click on that and it will load, but if I try to enter a direct link, it only works 10% of the time, the rest of the time it just times out. Same thing if I am on google (thats my homepage, and always opens) and enter a search query, it will usually time out.

I have no firewalls on at the moment.

Any suggestions??
