Hi,

I've been having this particular problem as stated above in the topic for quite a while now. There are 4 computers in my house that connects to the internet through my computer. (wireless)

Internet access is available to 3 of the wireless clients, but my father and brother will not be able to access the internet when I have my laptop connected. It says limited connectivity when this happens to both their laptop and computer.

I'm using a D-Link 524 Wireless Router.

Can anyone help me on this issue here?

Thanks!

Can we get some more info from you? See this post (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84447) and provide the info it suggests. Especially provide ipconfig/all output for the laptop causing the issue.

Thanks for the prompt reply!

Theres a total of 4 computers/laptops that is connected to the internet in my network, 1 is the host and 3 are clients that connects through wireless connection.

I'm the host and am able to access the internet without any problems.
The problem here is when I connect my HP Presario v3000 Laptop to my network, the other 2 will not be able to access the internet or get disconnected if they are already connected.

I've not try anything regarding manual configuration of IPs and stuffs cause I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to do.

I am on a Cable connection with a Motorola SB5100 Surfboard Cable Modem and a D-Link wireless router DI-524.

All 3 clients are connected through wireless except for the host.
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate and so is one of client.
The other is a XP Professional SP2.
The HP Presario v3000 laptop is XP Professional SP2.

IP Addresses
IPv4: 192.168.0.108
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

The default gateway is ping-able.

The ipconfig info you gave looks good, but i would have preferred all the ipconfig info. It cuts down on the questions usually.

Are all the PCs connected to the router directly or are you using ICS?
Are you using static or dynamic IP addresses?
If you are using dynamic IPs what is acting as the DHCP server?

So you are running 1 wired connection and 3 wireless connections, correct?

Yes, I'm running 1 wired and 3 wireless connections and they are all directly connected to the router.

I'm guessing dynamic. Not very sure though. IP doesn't change right? As for the DCHP server.. I'm not too sure about that. How do I check?

Do you need the ipconfigs of the other 3 computers as well?
The ipconfig info below is from the wired connection

Well your desktop has its IP set to static (fixed, not dynamic/automatic).
You need to check the other machines to see if they have a static/fixed IP address like this one and if they do make sure that they don't use the same IPs or 192.168.0.1

Erm, one question..

If the other machines have static/fixed ip address like my desktop, Do I have to change them? No right? and do I change them to static if they are dynamic?

And er, how do I change the IPs if they are using the same IP or 192.168.0.1 ?

Thanks

You can have static and dynamic IPs on the same network, but you need to make sure that the static IP addresses are not in the range of IPs handed out by the DHCP server. (The DHCP settings at the router control the range of IPs used)

You set the dynamic vs static IP through the tcp/ip settings for your connection. See this quick vid (http://webpages.charter.net/rodriques//CTH/ip_setting/) if you are unsure where to find it.
