Is Vista really this bad?

I'm new to Vista and haven't had any problems with it yet. Came across this and was wondering if Vista really is defective. I personally like Vista so far.

I've had VISTA on a Dell laptop for 6+ months; so far, no major problems but instead of 'jumping into' the OS expecting XP (which I use on our home DT computer & in my office), I did a lot of reading before & after, and so far have been fine w/ this OS.

But having said this, VISTA is not being deployed in my medical center; plus, my son who just visited us (an IT person in a large corporation in Indiana) is waiting for the 'next' MS OS - I've read similar comments - thus, not sure what the future of VISTA may be? Questions - will MS stop supporting XP as indicated or extend such support? How many VISTA SPs will appear? When will MS release their next OS?

All is up in the air @ the moment IMHO - glad that I have an old laptop w/ Ubuntu installed - at least, I have an option & a fall back - :happy:

Ive had vista since the beta programs always worked well, suppose it depends on how well your computer is set up

Steve Ballmer stated that Vista is "a work in progress" which upset a lot of IT people. Personally, I don't think Vista is that bad. The only thing I'm seeing is the manufacturers aren't putting enough memory in their products. People are bringing me computers that are slow. The first thing I recommend is to stuff the thing full of memory. Then clean it up and stop the AV conflicts. Which speeds them up tremendously.

Anyway, if you're asking for opinions regarding to Vista, perhaps it'd be better to post such a thing in the Vista forum. Reason being, you'd get more responses to it there since not everyone looks in this forum.
