need help getting my network up and running

The problem i'm having is that i can't access shared folders of a computer on my network. when i try i get this error message:


\\Familypc is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found.


my network so far includes my computer and the family computer (familypc) so far. the familypc is conected to a belkin wireless-g router which is connected to the internet (hughes net satelite). then there is a cable running from the belkin router to a zonet ethernet switch. from there, there is a cable that connects to my pc. i could draw a diagram if one is needed.

anyway, i am able to use the internet on my computer, but i can't share folder and files...

both computers are running windows xp home edition.
