Hi Techs,
I'd be very grateful if someone could explain to me how to locate animations to link to, and then to post, in a discussion forum?
I know how to post images, google-video and You Tube video but not moving animations.
Thank you,
sara.

Well I found out what to do all by myself so let me share it with you:
Type 'animations' or animations gif' into your search engine.
Locate site hosting animations, select animation, right click on animation and bring up menu.
From the menu select 'Properties' Open properties and you will see the http address of the animation. Highlight and copy the address then go to your forum post and select 'img'.
place your mouse pointer where you want to place the animation then click on 'img'.
You will than see img img where you left the pointer.
Place your mouse pointer between the two imgs and paste the animation address.
If you select 'preview post' it may not display the animation only the address. If this happenns simply click 'send' and having posted your post the animation will appear.
Some forums like this one may have a different way of displaying images. This one may only be able to display smilies.

Just as a FYI, not every website allows you to "steal" their images in the way you are showing!!!!

I believe that is called 'hotlinking', and as lufbra says, some sites don't allow it. I dont understand the finer points of it, but one way or another, its stealing. Better to create a photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) account for yourself (there are other image hosting websites) and upload the animations, videos or pictures you find and post them that way.
Or download SmileyPad from HERE (http://www.download.com/SmileyPad/3000-2150_4-10496393.html) and use that instead, or as well as.
Id have replied sooner, but I wasnt sure I entirely understood the question.
I must have had my stupid head on http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/PurestLight/smilies/cool.gif

I chose not to reply originally because it involved possible hotlinking without permission.

I started to and even had a paragraph typed, but then I changed my mind. sometimes its just best not to respond when someone is asking about something improper. I guess I am getting soft in my old age. :D
