I mean, I want to make an icon for a certain...use.
What format do I save it is, how many pixels, what program, etc.

Do you have Irfanview?
If so, just open the image, then File/Save As, select where you want to save the icon image, select ICO in the file type, click "save", it does the rest for you!! :)

Yup, it re-sizes automatically, and has a boat load of other great features, if you decide to download it, download as many plug ins as possible!! :)
Two of my favourite features are the Screen Capture, and the Set As Wallpaper....Awesome!! :)
