I had a pop up this morning on my AVG saying updates for 7.5 will no longer happen after May 31st and one needs to upgrade to 8.0. The thing is, 8.0 does not appear to be free?

Does anyone know anything further or am I just misinterpreting this?

The AVG Free v. 8.0 download link is on this page (http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe).

You have to read AVG's pages carefully to find the links to their free version. They make money selling the paid version so it's not to their advantage to make it too easy to find the free one. ;)

Also note that the URL is free.grisoft.com, not grisoft.com.

If not already done, take a look at this AVG THREAD (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178314&highlight=avg) - I'll have to make the same decision on my VISTA laptop; I'd prefer just having a 'free' AV program (i.e. w/o the spyware component), so will either 'figure out' the AVG 8.0 options or change to another one? :hmm:
