I have got a brand-new laptop with Windows Vista Premium Home installed on it. I also activated the preinstalled trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 with the activation key. Now, I would like to get rid of this trial version and install (a fully functional version of) Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 instead-I'll be buying a boxed version in a few days. I am simply not interested in converting the trial version into a full version. I've looked at the control panel, and the largest chunk of Microsoft Office is indicated as "Microsoft Office System 2007". I am surmising that I have to deinstall that. Then there are other small things which belong to MS Office, like Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components, and there are also patches and fixes for Office 2007 in the list of updates. How do I get rid of all this stuff to ensure a successful install of MS Office Home and Student 2007?:dizzy:

Okay, I managed to find the solution. I had read many complaints about the difficulties of removing MS Office Trial version and found the answer.
First, one has to go to the control panel and deinstall the trial assistant. Afterwards, one can remove Microsoft Office trial version (also in the control panel). Do not remove MS Office trial verson first! And create a system restore point before getting the stuff off the computer - just in case. I am happily rid of my trial version and have installed a full boxed version.
