Look a bit naff to me (http://www.royalmint.com/newdesigns/designsRevealed.aspx). :dizzy: No numbers on them either to confuse foreigners.

I think they're awful, too! And not having numbers is a biggee, it's true. I was confused enough with the coins that had numbers!

I still have my complete set of coins that Mrs. Lufbra sent me to practice with before going over there, and I just took them out to compare. Oh, they are so much nicer. That deformed looking bit doesn't do anything for me. Another site says, "When placed together, will reveal the complete shield of arms." I suppose I'm just too foreign to see that, but I don't really see that.

Is Queen Elizabeth on the other side?

Yep, her Madge is on the flip side (probably wearing a flat cap) :p

Now I quite like those. But then again I like Skoda's too.:D

I think theyre OK. The way it makes into a shield is clever. I think all our coins are too small anyway. Those blasted 5p's get on my pip (and into a jar)
Not too keen on Skodas, though lol

Is there is a £2.00 GBP coin?

The disadventages of the new british coinage.... as dammit posted, they have no numbers on them!

The Canadian coinage have numbers on it, as well as the Euro coinage

There is a £2 coin... can't seem to see it there though. Having said that, it's the most recent so maybe they won't upgrade it yet.

Theres loads of different £2 coins. And £5 coins. Im ok with the £2 ones, but the £5 ones, I cant spend I dont think, and Im not even sure I can pay them into my bank account. I might put them on e-bay :)

Never seen one :dizzy:

You can spend the £5 coins anywhere. In fact you can use any form of sterling anywhere in the British Isles as long as the cash you're trying to spend is still in circulation. For example there would be absolutely no point in Dave trying to but a round with a couple of dammit's white £5 notes. Not that he'd buy a round anyway. :hmm:

To close I'd just like to say that the above statement is only my personal opinion on the quid and it's kids. Please don't take me literally as I am usually guilty of being a complete knobhead.

Some of them remind me of bus tokens and those bathroom tokens they give you to unlock the crapper.
Did I spell everything O.K.? Spelling seems to be a big deal here.:rotflmao:

I dont think we have bus or bathroom tokens here. Its free to use the public loos in M & S and other department stores. Good job too, my shopping partner in crime needs one every 15 mins lol.

Your spelling looks ok there :D Trouble is, one missed apostrophe or comma and a sentence can take on a whole new meaning can't it http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/big_madhouse/mail1.gif

Are those crop circles being depicted on the center of the coin?

Those are actually radiation signs as the coins are minted near a nuclear landfill site a.k.a Pen-Y-Bont

I'm still trying to get the hang of this decimalisation lark. There was nothing wrong with florins, half crowns or tanners, as far as I can see. And it ruined the old thruppeny-bit double entendre. :(

Just me putting my 2/6d in. You interfering Common Marketeers.

Most of us indiginous types should have a handle on the shapes of this coinage below - suppose it's local knowledge really. I don't actually ever have to read the denomination off a coin when I'm shelling out for something.

It's like when I go to the States - I STILL can't get used to the fact that all dollar denominations are printed on the same size banknote, yet the locals are perfectly used to it.

Could be worse, we could be using Euros - now theres a particularly unnatractive bunch of coins and notes.
