I have Office 2007 installed on my laptop. I have Excel open and I'm making a spreadsheet. When I go to type in '001' it automatically changes it to '1'. I don't want it to be '1', I want it to be '001'. Just '001'. Does anyone know how to fix this? Help would be much appreciated.

I don't have the 2007 version but it should be similar.
With your cursor in the cell you want to show 001, click on "format" at the top of the page (I know 2007 is somewhat different), then "cells" in the drop down.
In the box to the left that appears in the window (it should show for numbers, if not click the tab for numbers) scroll down for "custom". In the new areas that appear click in the "type" bar and enter 000 or 000.0 if you want the decimal place to appear, then OK.
Now for that cell if you enter a 1 it will show as 001 or if you enter 50 it will show 050. It will always show a minimum of 3 characters for 000.
Hope this helps
