View Full Version : CompTIA Test Material Providers, reliable?

I'm an Apple Specialist looking to broaden my horizons and get the A+ Certification. I have a PC background (no certs, just experience and diploma) but for the last year and a half I'm been working with Macs so I figured I'd use an online testing material provider that I've used for my Apple Certs.

So I got the material, studied for two and half weeks, get to the testing facility and I don't recognize a single question from the study material. It was a gut wrenching experience as I paid $163.00 dollars for the test ($135.00 for the material) and was a deer in head lights.

I'm curious if anyone here uses a particular test material provider that they have had a good experience with? The provider I used guarantees their material so now I'm in the process of sorting out either a refund or other material(s).

I believe the A+ I took was the older version as all my study material was recently updated.

CompTIA's website (http://certification.comptia.org/default.aspx) itself provides some links I would assume it approves, though no web based exam study providers for A+. Probably the surest choice for anyone unfamiliar with other available schools or options.

CompTIA can provide you with third party suggestions. I found a new vendor that I'm going to try out.

Have you looked at your local community colleges to see if they have non-credit A+ prep courses?

They do, as well as some of them offer the CompTIA testing on their campus. I just use online study material its helped me with all my Apple Certs. I'll post after I take my next exam.

Good job BuzWeaver. Maybe more opportunities for you now in working across OS platforms there.

Thanks, needless to say I was motivated by my previous experience.
