upgrade problem BSoD

Hey all, im having some troubles with a new motherboard i am trying to install. I have pretty much got the solution but i can not carry it out.

the problem is i get BSoD on boot when installing the new motherboard, and its trying to boot from the old motherboard drivers, simply need to do a OS install repair but i do not have a copy of Windows XP no longer as it has a crack from center to edge!! ( i do realize this is a hardware problem ) but the reason i have posted in software is this question; if i uninstalled every bit of software/driver to do with the old motherboard from the HDD and tryed again, would i succeed? or is it deeper then that? ( Bios and what not )

thanks in advance! LinX
