Hello,
I used my Windows sound recorder (Microsoft v 5.1 sp2) the other day (sadly), and now CD's played in or burned in the CDRW drive sound garbled and cracking or slow. Used Win media and I-Tunes to burn with same result. Music on the hard drive sounds fine. I can slow-down a CD's play speed as it's going by using the Win sound rec program settings. I don't get the relationship but I had no problem till I used the recorder. Recorder has slow-down setting but no reset, speed-up does nothing. Tried System Restore. Have installed/reinstalled recorder and Win media player 10. Still have drive problems with recorder deleted. Drivers look OK for CDRW, tried to update them but computer found no updates. HP tech support had a few ideas but no solutions. Thanks for any help. Gonz
