windows 1998 help

hey all lately I have been getting this program called CPUIDLE displaying its self in the task manager is there anyway to delete this off my machine and also my D: reads game cds but crashes my computer when i insert a custom made audio cd anyone know why that is and finally is there anywhere on the net I can download windows 1998 CD Player as my computer is claming that i have deleated any suggestions or help would be much appreciated thanks

looks like this was a 30 day free trial sofware if so you should be able to remove it in your control panel add/remove

dont quite under stand about cd player if your talking about your windows you should get it off your 98cd

Click on start, go to run, type in MSCONFIG, hit OK.

Move to the Startup tab, and everthing checked in here is something that turns on when you start up.

Now some of these are needed, for you PC (if it is an OEM PC) or for other programs (like your antivirus, etc).

go to this site here, Startup List , and see what each on does, and un check them if not needed. I bet CPUIdle will be in there.

And on the CDPlayer, go to run, type in CDPlayer, see if it comes up.
