Did a clean install of XP on a second HD on my system. Installed Office XP, but now I can't import or otherwise load my old PST file (which is still on the old HD and on a removable disk) into my new Outlook 2002 installation on the new drive. I follow the import menus, point to the proper file and nothing happens. What gives? Any ideas?

Are you recieiving any kind of an error after you specify the file to import and tell it to perform the task? Did you encrypt the .pst when you exported it originally?
Just a thought, make sure that the .pst file is not read only. Right click on the file and near the bottom you should see the file attibutes. If read only is checked, try unchecking it and try again.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I get no error message. Nothing happens at all. The default Outlook 2002 file that opens on startup doesn't change.
I checked both copies of my old Outlook PST file. neither was read-only. They both were checked for "Archive" so I unchecked that, but it still didn't work.
I'm not sure what's going on here...

An additional thought: I'm not sure I 'exported' orginally. I think I may have just copied the file directly from its directory. Is that the problem?

Just figured out that the file actualy was encrypted (didn't know it did that on default). After saving another file without encryption, I was able to import with no problem.
