Anyone had much use of it ? This will be my first use of this distro having previously used RH on servers and clients.....

I installed BSD a while back...hardest install for me. It went kinda like the way Slack goes in....all command line and very cryptic. I never really played with it much either. Everything reads it's a heck of an OS for a server though.

I'm investigating the possibilities of replacing an NT4 domain with Samba for cost efficiency reasons as clients I have are horrified at times by CAL costs.
FreeBSD by reputation, as you say, is an awesome server OS.
Still waiting for the CDs though lol

Good luck MishY :)
If you do use FBSD you will not regret it!
I have run samba PDC from my BSD box for a while...
The handbook on www.freebsd.org should be your guide, also check www.bsdvault.net for lots of good info/howto's etc...

Thanks Diffie! Have got the CDs now and am gonna try it out next weekend hopefully. I've run RH7.2 as a PDC before and it ran quite well. Although I never cracked the user being able to change their password on the PDC through windows. That was more than likely due to my lack of samba knowledge however! Hopefully I'll crack it this time :)
