Video Card Error

I recently downloaded Sim City Societies to my computer. It meets all the reqs and installed fine. However, when I try and play it, it runs smooth for about 5 min before it crashes. It leaves me with an error message that says

"Your Display Driver has reported a Device Internal Error. Your game was saved ..."

I have Windows XP (that was recently reformatted) with a Nvidia GeForce 6600 Video Card that is updated and turned to performance.

Any help would be great, just ask if you need more info.

Thanks, Calvins8

I bought it from the EA store. Fully legal and I would assume reliable. Have you guys had trouble with them before?

Thanks,
Calvins8

Is the GF6600 on-board or an AGP card?
Does it have it's own fan?
Is the fan working efficiently?

Is your CPU fan clean and working efficiently?

Broni - some cheaper brands (EVGA, BFG) marketed a 6600 with only a large heatsink, no fan.
Obvious result - overheating when playing games, particularly if game requirements need minimum of 6x series chip.
This game suggests GF5900 and above so a budget 6600 could well be being overtaxed by the crappy SimCitySoc graphics engine.
