I've just formatted the hard drive in an old compaq (a process I've done
before with no probs) so that my son can get his first taste of a PC.
Problem I have though is the following when I try to load on W98 or ME on
the CD ROM drive

Device driver not found OEMCD001

No Valid CDROM device drivers selected

Set up files not found

Please could someone point me in the right direction

Thanks

Stuart

If your CD-ROM drive is a standard IDE type, I can e-mail you a driver that will install itself and work with any IDE CD-ROM drive.

Go HERE (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm) and download the Bootdisk Maker Program entitled Windows 98SE OEM to your hard drive. Double click on the downloaded file and follow the displayed prompts and you'll end up with a working bootdisk with CD-ROM support.
