I think my RedHat 9 got frozen and i know from experience not to push the powerbutton. What do i do!!!

It takes a lot to get linux to 'lock-up' like Windows does, so I doubt that you have completely locked up Red Hat.

If you're in a desktop manager, like KDE or Gnome....press CTRL and ESC at the same time. This will bring up the process table. This is similar to doing a CTRL-ALT-DEL in windows and getting the task list.

In this process table look down through the list and see which process is using a lot of system resources. That is likely the application that is 'locked up'.

Check that first, then we'll talk about 'killing processes'.

hah, turns out i wasn't froze, something prompt me to say OK or CANCEL and it was behind all the windows and i don't have any sound. So i couldn't click on anything but i could move windows around. lol, but thanks anyways twisted i'll be sure to use that info sooner or later.
