Some good advice..
I have a few drives in my system.. Serial ATA 10,000 for main drive, 120 gig for backup, and also I left my older 30 and 15 gigs in the for storage. The 30 gig showed no signs of dying that I saw/heard. Weird how it went bad and the 15 gig still works and it's older and had more use!
Anyway, I was in My Computer trying to access the drive and it said it hasn't been formatted! It was full of stuff a few days ago! Every Seinfeld episode! NOOOO I yelled out in pain! I purchased On Track Software's Easy Recovery 6.0 and was amazed. It took about 15 mins to scan the drive and it let me select what files I want to recover. Which is now taking about 30 mins. A small time to wait for recovery of my precious files. It will copy these recovered files to another drive, or to an FTP and will even zip them up if you want. I might not have had top secret documents on there. Some people might not have considered my information enough to cry over, but to me it was my life. When my PC is sick I am sick too. Easy Recovery was my remedy and they deserve a big shot out. If you ever run into problems I highly reccommend this program. |

I have used Easy recovery a few times now. It is very good. Sometimes though some of your information will get corrupted and you wont be able to view it after Restoring it. So be prepared if you can't.
It also has a section in it to Repair those files that works pretty well. Sometimes doesn't do the trick but is well worth the effort. I even restored some files off a floppy disk that was created in Jan.95. Even though I can't view the files due to not having word perfect, but it Easy recovery worked great.... Anyways, I highly recomend this product also. Is well worth the time and Money. |
