File of 85 MB filling entire 700MB CD R

I'm trying to copy .mp3 files from my hard drive to CD R using Easy CD Creator. When I drag and drop an 85MB file from the "Explorer" view in EZCD Creator to the "CD Layout" view (entire disc, albw file) this file fills approx. 90% of the CD R.

If the CD R is a 700MB disc, why does an 85MB .mp3 file fill it almost to capacity? As there are other files that I need to record to this same CD R, I like to know if there's a way to do this with out having to use multiple CD R's.

Thanks,

jayro

I don't use EZ CD Creator but I just had a thought on this one. Is it showing the file size as a .wav file? Could it be converting it from .mp3 to .wav? Is there an option for burning the .mp3 as an .mp3 file instead of as a .wav file?

Just a thought....Good luck on this one.

i agree,
if the MP3 is 85MB and you are creating an Audio CD then it will be converted to WAV.

I had something similar yesterday, I was burning myself a new copy of a CD i had but lost, and the files took up only like 90mb, but nero burning (which is what I use) was making it like 500-600mb.
