I have tried totally unistalling the software but it still wont install.....

Is the program supported under XP?

If not try running in Compatibility mode.
Right click the .exe file and choose properties.
There is an option to Run As, 95, 2000 etc.
Try running in 2000 mode.

You could also try removing the setup files incase they are the problem. Try clearing the temp files and use a program such as JV Powertools to remove any registry entries.

The temp files for the local user are located in the following directory:

c:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temp

The directories may or may not been seen by you. If not, then click on the Tools menu, then Folder Options. In here, click on the View tab and under the Hidden Files and Folders, select the option to Show hidden files and folders.

In the Temp folder delete everything in it. Some files you may not be able to delete, just ingore them and delete everything else. It is best to perform this immediately after booting the system as some program use this directory for currently running processes, which is why you cannot delete some files.
