Hey all- not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a quick question. I have a remote hosting service (cheap shared stuff) that offers pop2 accounts and a webmail service (no IMAP). I don't like the webmail side of things. I would like to use a different webmail interface. Can I do this?
In the end, I would like to have the option of using a web interface or outlook/express whenever I prefer, But with am interface that I like.
Also, with a remote host can I use my own mail server (on the host)? I wouldn't mind using my own server that I can customize (like Squirrelmail (http://www.squirrelmail.org/) , etc..) that perhaps connects to a MySQL database (which I have with my host).
How about using IMAP?
If more details about the host are neccessary, it is Splice Host (http://www.splicehost.com) .
Any and all information would be useful. I have searched around but found a surprisingly little amount of information online about these topics. So, links to good info sources would be great also!
Thanks!!
