I rearanged my ide drives making sure that the jumpers are correct...now I can't boot to win 2000 adv server...I set the bios to boot from cd... and maid sure they were detecting the drive and cd/rom..still no success...the cd/rom spins...no success...All I get is a blinking dash on a black screen...I set my bios back to setup default..no success..

any suggestions?

be sure your pc is clean, and that your jumpers are right. try manually clearing your bios, and check your hd cables. I seem to remember hearing about a problem of swaping nt hard drives did you accidently swap the nt hard disk with the other one (if you have one). Also be sure that the hard disk is your primary master or master0, because some bios' dont like booting drives that arent hooked in to the primary ide port.

nice imagery...I too am like a box of chocolot...sometimes good, somestimes not...then again aren't we all..If everything was consistently good, life would be boaring...it is like French wine...it is not standardized...unpredictable...nice...
