Hi All
My brother is facing a problem with using his yahoo messenger. The ISP seems to have blocked some of his ports, he can use yahoo messenger for text chat only, voice chat seems to have been disabled. moreover we can not transfer files over a certain size.

my questions are
1) how can i determine which ports has the ISP blocked?
2) why can we not transfer files above a certain size( we tried to doa 5 meg file transfer that did not work)
3) can we reconfigure ports on yahoo, so that if the isp has blocked the ports, we can still do yahoo voice chat using some other ports.

(i think 3 might be possible, since i was transferring a file to this friend of mine, and hsi port was blocked, and yahoo did some sort of auto reconfigure)

Regards

1.) Call the ISP and ask or go to their website and have a look around.

2.)Yahoo has a file size limit for p2p transfer. (5MB)

3.)Open yahoo and then ctrl+P go to Connections here you can adjust how yahoo connects to the internet. You may only have to test a setting or two to clear up your problem.
