New, never networked before and need assistance :-)

I just connected my SMC 7004VBR router to my DSL modem. I've easily established a connection to my ISP and this connection is allowing both computers on the NETWORK to route on the internet. So far so good, that part was really easy.

Now, I'd like my XP box to be able to communicate with my WIN95 box. I've never had anything to do with such matters and would appreciate anyone's assistance and wisdom or just getting pointed in a direction where I can get step by step information on what I need to do with each system to get them communicating with each other and not just my WAN connection.
