IE6 in XP Pro drops out, connection still good

IE6 on my system drops out, giving me the "page not found" message, however I can still check email. At first I thought it was a hardware/ISP issue. I tried cycling my cable modem and router, but this did not fix anything. The only way to get back onto web sites is to restart. I am new to XP, is there an IE repair tool as in W98SE? Where do I start looking for solutions for this?

Hi Lamebrain, Let's make sure there is no 'malware' involved, Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.spywareinfo.com/files/hijackthis.zip
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.

Hi Lamebrain, I don't see anything malicious in your Hijack log. You may want to visit Windows Update and install any updates avaliable.
A couple of weeks ago M$ released a couple of revised updates to fix problems caused by the original updates conflicting with Zone Alarm.
If doing that doesn't cure the problem, then try a repair of IE.
