Microsoft on Thursday officially released an update to its Windows 2000 operating system.
With Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, (http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp) the software maker added various security and compatibility fixes and provided support for USB (universal serial bus) 2.0 and for wireless Internet connections.

On Wednesday, tech forum site Neowin posted what it claims are links to the fourth service pack (http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=12129&category=main) for Windows 2000 from Microsoft. The site said that the download it linked to was the final release for Service Pack 4, but Microsoft declined to confirm that, saying only that Service Pack 4 was "due relatively soon."
