Uninstalling win2k
How do i uninstall win2k?
the reason is that i want to dual boot win98 but i cant figure out how to do it from win2k. so i want to uninstall win2k, install win98, and then add win2k again later. For after i uninstall win2k will i need boot disks for win 98, or just my cd. i get the feeling i am being vague but any help and detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think there is a way to outright uninstall 2000 but you can make it useless the install 98 then reinstall 2000.
You can oly dual boot if you have 2 partitions. if you dont have 2 you have to make 2. If you want to do it for free you have to console your self to the point that your gonna loose EVERYTHING! so backup what you want. First this first back everything up! 2nd: get a windows 98 boot disk with format, mscdex, fdisk, and the cd rom driver, you can do this on a friends machine by going to the add/remove programs control panel applet and making a windows startup disk there. Then copy (if they arent there) sys, format, fdisk, edit, and mem from thw C:\windows\command folder on to your disk. 3rd: use fdisk to partition your hard disk 4th: reboot 5th: type the command format c: /s 6th: type the command format d: 7th: goon to the windows 98 cd and install windows 98. 8th: install Win 2k i have never dual booted with 2000 an 98 but i have with 2000 and 95 and found this to be a good reference (along with help from others) also this and this are good references. (i spend alot of time on msg boads :evilwink: )
