Does anyone know how to change the IRQ on a device such as a WIFI card in console mode or kde 2?

Till this irq is fixed i CANT load into xwindows in a res higher than 640x480

Yeah its for the laptop in my profile. Ive worked 6 months to get it to work and never found a tutorial for it. I tried Slack8 and RH8. also KNOPPIX and DEBIAN
